The Industrial Development Agency, Ireland (IDA Ireland) is one of the most successful inward investment agencies in the world. The organisation has attracted over 1,000 companies to invest in Ireland and was a key component of the country's record growth period over the past 10 years.

The Challenge

When we met the IDA Ireland it was clear the online presence of the agency had not kept pace with the agency's dynamic work or online trends. The IDA engaged Webfactory in the summer of 2008 with a view to creating a ground-breaking website which would play a major role in attracting new Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) business to Ireland.

Our Solution

Following a 4 month Discovery period where we analysed and reviewed IDA Ireland's brand and market, we concluded that the site needed to appeal to a broad international industry base of CEOs and CFOs. We developed a dynamic site architecture to deliver content of relevance to the user and their interests as they moved through the site.

The redesigned and developed IDA Ireland website resulted in an 11% increase in FDI enquires for 2008 alone. The site has continued to develop rapidly with the IDA Ireland focusing on video content, which had proven to provide great traction with their market. Webfactory also delivered a mobile version of their site in 2011 which delivers core IDA Ireland content, including video content to mobile users.
